Absorbs 3 times more moisture than Boveda 49% RH. Stabilises moisture in the ideal range: 45-55% relative humidity, even in extreme humidity. If the air inside a housing is too humid, Boveda absorbs this moisture. If it is too dry, Boveda releases small amounts of water vapor into the housing. Wide fluctuations in humidity will cause the wood to expand or shrink, which puts stress on the instrument and degrades its performance capabilities.
